Prof. Tadafumi Adschiri, Ph.D. The Advanced Institute for Materials Research (WPI-AIMR), Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials, Adschiri Laboratory, Tohoku University was invited to give a presentation for a NRW Japan Fireplace Web Talk, co-hosted by NRW Japan K.K., Tokyo, a 100% Japanese subsidiary of NRW.INVEST GmbH, Economic Development Agency of the German State of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), and the Cluster NanoMicroMaterialsPhotonics NRW, Düsseldorf.

Center for Co-Creation Strategy, Tohoku University served as a mediator between Prof. Adschiri and NRW Japan.

The theme of this event was “COVID-19 Instant Diagnostics” in which Prof. Adschiri introduced his research and other Tohoku University researchers’ technologies leading to COVID-19 diagnostics, among other experts from Germany, including Prof. Dr. Karsten Seidl from Fraunhofer IMS (Duisburg).

After the presentation session, speakers had an open discussion, moderated by Georg K. Löer, Representative Director & President, NRW JAPAN K.K., about COVID-19 technologies from clinical, business, and social aspects.
