Tohoku University President Hideo Ohno, Tohoku University Hospital Director Dr. Teiji Tominaga’s interviews were featured in the regional promotion video created by JETRO.

 

As one of the “Succeed together in Japan and beyond” videos introducing the regional business environment in 7 areas in Japan, this video was created for attracting foreign direct investment in Miyagi prefecture, where industry-academia collaboration is active with Tohoku University in particular, especially in the field of Life Sciences.

 

In the video, besides Miyagi’s general introduction by the prefectural governor, President Ohno explained the current situation of international industry-academia collaboration and the latest projects at Tohoku University, followed by Dr. Teiji Tominaga, Director of Tohoku University Hospital, presented smart hospital initiative and advantages of Tohoku University Hospital.

 

In addition, the CEO of Philips Japan, Mr. Hiroyuki Tsutsumi, introduced a joint project with Tohoku University Hospital and Philips Co-Creation Centre located in Sendai city, the Philips’s first innovation hub in Japan focusing on health and preventive care.
